Although this is an indication of grading with regards to the visual look, this is not the grading in quality. Quality Grading is graded from A grade, AB , CD, CDE & mix grade flooring. Quarter Sawn

By definition, quarter sawn Oak lumber is the angle that the annular growth rings intersect the face of the board. When cutting this lumber at the sawmill, each log is sawed at a radial angle into four quarters, hence the name.

This is the most expensive cut of timber and has a distinctive pattern to all other grades of flat sawn oak.

Prime GradeFlat sawn oak timber which is a clear grade with a mixture of natural grain with occasional knots not exceeding 10mm with minimal sapwood leaving a natural colour with no heart wood.
